RAJKOT: A judicial inquiry has been ordered after a man arrested for loot died in Galpadar jail of Gandhidham in Kutch.
The arrested person, Chhagan Bhabhor of Dahod, was arrested in a Rs 2 lakh loot case by the Anjar police last week.
Police had also taken him to Dahod for investigation in the loot case.
Police said that Bhabhor had repeatedly banged his head on the wall inside the lock-up and was given treatment at a government hospital.

On Tuesday, after his remand period ended, he was produced before the court which sent him to judicial custody in Galpadar jail.
Early on Wednesday morning, Bhabhor complained of being unwell and was taken to a hospital in Adipur where he died during treatment.
His family members alleged that Bhabhor died due to police excesses, but cops said Bhabhor was heavily addicted to liquor and suffered from withdrawal symptoms.
His body was sent to Jamnagar for forensic postmortem and Anjar sub-divisional magistrate is conducting an inquiry, said S N Gadu, inspector, Anjar police station.
