Two RPF personnel suspended for assaulting four AMU students

One RPF Inspector and Constable were accused of assaulting four students of the Aligarh Muslim University at the railway station, after which they were suspended.

On Thursday, AMU students created a ruckus for several hours. It is alleged that the RPF Inspector and Constable beat up the three students who had come to see off a fellow student and the student who was supposed to travel by the Farakka Express. Hundreds of students came to the station on the news of assault on the students. They were demanding action against the culprits. Proctorial team also arrived. Seeing the anger of the students, the accused Inspector and Constable have been suspended. It was only after that, that the matter could be settled.

Shahid, a student of West Bengal, had to go to his home by Farakka Express. Three fellow students had reached the station to see off Shahid in the train. The train reached the station at around 12:30 P.M. The train was very crowded. Somehow fellow students made Shahid board the train.

It is alleged that then RPF's ASI Prempal and constable Kuldeep, who were present on the platform, stopped them while they were coming back. He asked for platform tickets from all three. The students introduced themselves and told that they were students of AMU, had come to board the fellow student. It is alleged that on this matter, the RPF personnel first started abusing them than they also beat them up.

Along with informing his colleagues in this matter, the aggrieved student informed the AMU management.

On information, a large number of students came to the station and started creating ruckus demanding action against the guilty RPF personnel.

The proctorial team reached the station. Talks were held with railway officials on the phone itself. After this, the announcement of suspension of accused ASI Prempal and constable Kuldeep was made. Then somewhere the commotion calmed down.
