Varanasi: Cops attach ₹3.76crore plot of Mukhtar’s wife in Ghazipur

VARANASI: A police team from Mau attached a plot with market value of Rs 3.76 crore of jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afsha Ansari in Sheikhpur area of Ghazipur district on Wednesday.
SP Mau Sushil Ghule said a police team led by CO City Dhananjay Mishra went to Ghazipur on Wednesday to execute the order of district magistrate Mau issued under Gangsters Act and completed the process of attachment of a plot in Sheikhpur area.
The market value of the plot is Rs 3.76 crores, he said.
During the ongoing investigation of cases lodged against Mukhar, his family and gang members it came to light that this plot was purchased in the name of Afsha Ansari with illegally earned money. After SP Mau submitted his report, the DM issued an order for attaching the plot.
As per the records of ADG Varanasi zone, the police crackdown since the past two years has caused total financial loss of over Rs 500 crores to the economic empire of Mukhtar, his family and gang members in this region.
