Maharashtra Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal is likely to send notices to 16 Shiv Sena rebel MLAs on Saturday for a hearing on the petition filed by Shiv Sena for their suspension, ANI claimed. On the other hand, rebel MLAs are also reportedly planning to oust the deputy speaker.
Shiv Sena has also called a meeting of the party's national executive committee at Sena Bhavan, Mumbai on Saturday at 1 pm. CM Uddhav Thackeray will join the meeting through video conferencing.
Earlier Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray launched a scorching counter-attack on the rebels, daring them to win the elections "without using the name of Shiv Sena or the Thackerays", even as allies Nationalist Congress Party-Congress reiterated their commitment to save the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde took a U-turn saying no national party is in contact with them, a day after claiming that a "powerful national party" was supporting his group of MLAs in the ongoing political drama in Maharashtra.
Eknath Shinde has the numbers now. All 37 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs who are camping in Guwahati have sent a letter to Maharashtra Assembly's Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal, stating that Eknath Shinde will remain their group leader in legislature.The Shiv Sena rebel group is likely to withdraw support to the Maha Vikas Aghadi government soon. Shinde is likely to send a letter to Maharashtra governor BS Koshyari to this effect.

A large number of Assam Congress workers staged a protest outside the Radisson Blu hotel on the outskirts of Guwahati on Friday where over 40 Maharashtra MLAs led by rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde are camping since Wednesday.The protesting Congress workers accused the state's BJP government of indulging in horse-trading to topple the Maharashtra government.

Shiv Sena MLA Bhaskar Jadhav on Friday asked party leader Sanjay Raut to communicate with the rebel legislators instead of "challenging" them. "Communicate with the rebels, find out if their grievances are genuine. Differences can be resolved through communication," Jadhav, MLA from Chiplun, told reporters. Plenty of GRS issued over the last few days
- Departments - mostly controlled by ruling allies NCP and Congress - have issued government resolutions for the release of funds for various development-related works worth thousands of crores in the last four days, reports PTI.
- Between June 20 and 23, the departments issued as many as 182 government resolutions (GRs), while on June 17, they passed 107 such GRs. These orders can be seen on the government's official website.
