387 accused arrested in anti-Agneepath violence so far, coaching centre closed in Aligarh for fear of investigation

New Delhi: Following violent protests against the Agneepath scheme, all the coaching centres at Tappal in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh did not open their shutters on Wednesday (June 22, 2022). The move comes in the wake of an ongoing investigation into his role in violent protests. It is being told that so far 11 operators of coaching institutes have been arrested by the police. These include sudhir sharma, owner of young india, the largest coaching institute from Aligarh. In the violence against Agneepath, the UP Police has so far registered 34 FIRs and arrested a total of 387 accused.   

A total of 76 accused, including the operators of 11 coaching institutes, have been arrested in Aligarh so far after the violence. Aligarh police have released posters of the miscreants on June 18. The posters have been prepared on the basis of CCTV footage taken out after the violence. These protesters had not only vandalised the Yamuna Expressway but also set the Jattari police post on fire. The police had to release tear gas shells to handle them. In these posters, the police have also announced a reward for getting the accused arrested.

Police are currently keeping an eye on all the coaching institutes in the state which are preparing for the army. Many of them have also been arrested in different parts of the state. Police believe that students in many coaching institutes have been instigated against the Agneepath scheme. At present, around 2200 coaching institutes are running in the state, where preparations are being made for army recruitment. In these places, not only army but also paramilitary, state police and railways, etc., are being prepared.
