14-year-old detained in Srinagar for terror links, father also held
SRINAGAR: A 14-year-old Class IX student and his father were detained and their home in Srinagar searched for the boy's alleged terrorist links as the NIA conducted multiple searches in eight locations of J&K in connection with terrorism-related cases, official sources said on Friday.
The sources said mobile phones of the boy and his parents were seized by the NIA team during the search of their home in Kani Mazar Nawakadal, downtown Srinagar.
His 47-year-old father is a driver by profession. Both were detained for questioning.
NIA sleuths with police and CRPF men carried out searches in Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipora, Pulwama, Sopore, and Kathua.
In Budgam district, ex-militant Syed Fayaz Ahmad of Bonpora Chewdara, Beerwah tehsil, was taken into custody and his house was searched. In Bandipora, homes of Abdul Majeed Dar and Owais Ahmad Sheikh were searched for their alleged links with terrorists.
