Water low in canal, half of Delhi to suffer

Due to a sudden decrease in the availability of raw water at the Haiderpur channel, almost half of Delhi, including north, north-west, west and parts of south Delhi such as Delhi Cantt and command area of deer park, are likely to face a water crunch for the next few days.

NEW DELHI: Due to a sudden decrease in the availability of raw water at the Haiderpur channel, almost half of Delhi, including north, north-west, west and parts of south Delhi such as Delhi Cantt and command area of deer park, are likely to face a water crunch for the next few days.
“Delhi Jal Board is making all efforts to rationalise the water supply.
However, water will be available at low pressure till the situation improves,” DJB said, adding that the situation was being reviewed constantly.
DJB said the residents should store sufficient water in advance as per requirement. “Water tankers will be made available on request,” it added.
