Indore (Madhya Pradesh): You would have seen a video getting viral on social media in which a minor boy cleans the car windshield in a weird manner and claims were made that a scam of scanning FASTtag on vehicles is going on. Taking note of that video, a cyber expert from the city on Saturday released a video on social media clarifying the rumors regarding the video.

Cyber expert Gourav Rawal said that the NETC FASTag Ecosystem is built on a 4 party model including NPCI, Acquirer Bank, issuer Bank, and Toll Plazas. Several layers of security protocols are placed to ensure the end-to-end safe processing of transactions.

He said, “an individual cannot receive the money in the NETC FASTag ecosystem from fraudulent transactions. The hardware installed at the Toll Plaza data centre/server room is cryptographically secured through Hardware Security Module (HSM).

He said, “no transactions can be executed through open internet connectivity. No financial transactions can be initiated without all the above prerequisites. Hence, these videos circulating on Social media are baseless and false. NPCI has already taken action to respond to these videos and delist them from the Social media platforms.”
