Varanasi: PM may visit Kashi; CM reviews various projects

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday evening reviewed the progress of the ongoing development projects in the district and also the law and order situation here in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's likely visit to his parliamentary constituency soon.

VARANASI: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday evening reviewed the progress of the ongoing development projects in the district and also the law and order situation here in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's likely visit to his parliamentary constituency soon.
The CM asked the divisional commissioner and district magistrate to examine those projects, which are ready for inauguration by the PM, to ensure that they are becoming operationalized immediately after their formal opening.
"All those projects, which are on the verge of completion, should be completed on a war-footing and also by maintaining all safety standards," he said.
The CM asked the health department officials to be in alert mode in view of the rising cases of Covid-19 and also establish helpdesks. He directed for strict enforcement of exercises for making Kashi free of plastic bags.
"If the city has been declared plastic-free, it should become free from plastic bags in reality," said CM Yogi emphasizing on special drives to make the city plastic free.
The CM asked the officials to ensure that sanitation drives are proving effective not only on roads and city localities but also inside government offices. He also reviewed tourism projects and asked the officials to keep taking stock of already operanalised projects like light and sound show at Sarnath to ensure that tourists were not facing any problems in enjoying it.
He also directed the officials to connect panchayat bhavans, which are being developed as village secretariats, with optical fibre. He also directed to ensure early completion of the project of piped water supply system. While reviewing law and order, the CM asked the police officials to strengthen the patrolling system.
