Kolkata Municipal Corporation launches portal for online service feedback

KOLKATA: If you want to register your complaints or feedback on online services provided by Kolkata Municipal Corporation, you can narrate your experiences at website.suggestions@kmcgov.in. Based on the feedback or suggestions, the KMC brass will modify the services to meet citizens’ expectations.
Mayor Firhad Hakim on Saturday officially launched the service and invited citizens to participate in an opinion poll that the KMC is going to conduct with help from its official twitter handle.According to Hakim, KMC will also engage senior officials working in the essential services department to reply to the citizens’ queries through an interactive session on Facebook.

The KMC member, mayor-in-council, overseeing the civic body’s IT department, Sandipan Saha, said the civic body will also seek feedback from the citizens on its essential services, such as water supply, drainage connection, garbage disposal, birth and death registrations, and, based on that, will ask the officials in charge of these departments to take corrective measures.
This apart, KMC will invite suggestions on quality of services being provided through ‘ease of doing business’ with respect to services like building construction permit, e-mutation, certificate of enlistment and water connection.
“Answers will also be invited from the citizens on whether the experience of online payments in case of payment of property tax, trade licence fee, building sanction fee was hassle-free,” said Saha.
