Lucknow: Active Covid cases crosses 3,600-mark

With over 300 cases in just three districts – Lucknow, Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad – in the past 24 hours, the state’s tally of new cases rose by 590 on Saturday.Health officials said that 508 persons recovered from the infection in the same duration.

LUCKNOW: With over 300 cases in just three districts – Lucknow, Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad – in the past 24 hours, the state’s tally of new cases rose by 590 on Saturday.
Health officials said that 508 persons recovered from the infection in the same duration. They also said that after adjusting new cases and recoveries, the number of active cases in the state reached 3,607.

Officials said that since omicron was the operating virus, there was no need to panic but advised prevention, especially among those in the vulnerable category including children, elderly, persons with comorbid conditions and pregnant women.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had instructed officials to increase the number of tests to ensure that those with the disease are detected. He also directed them to intensify the vaccination and intake of the precaution dose.
So far, 33.91 crore doses of the vaccine have been administered in the state across different age groups, which is highest in the country.
