Covid claims a life in Himachal Pradesh, 731 fresh cases in region

There was a slight dip in fresh Covid cases in the region, with Haryana and Punjab reporting 510 and 158 fresh cases on Saturday. However, one Covid patient succumbed in Himachal’s Chamba district, and the state recorded 63 fresh cases during the day.

CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: There was a slight dip in fresh Covid cases in the region, with Haryana and Punjab reporting 510 and 158 fresh cases on Saturday. However, one Covid patient succumbed in Himachal’s Chamba district, and the state recorded 63 fresh cases during the day.
In Haryana, 3,102 cases are active as of now, out of which 77 are hospitalised. On Saturday, Gurgaon reported the highest 290 cases, followed by Panchkula with 56 cases, Faridabad 36, Ambala 23, Hisar 17, Rohtak 16, Sirsa 15 and Karnal district with 14 cases.
In Punjab, 831 cases are active, while the state’s positivity rate stood at 1.31%.
In Himachal, positive cases reported include one from Chamba district, 3 from Hamirpur district, 25 from Kangra district, 2 from Kinnaur district, one from Kullu district, 4 from Lahaul-Spiti district, 10 from Mandi district, 2 from Shimla district, 12 from Solan district and 3 from Una district, and 292 cases are now active in the hill state.
On vaccination front, Haryana administered the first dose to 1,551 individuals, and 17,775 were given the booster dose. In Punjab, the day’s 24,985 vaccinations included 2,224 first doses, 22,761 second shots, and 4,285 precautionary doses. The state health department conducted 12,020 tests.
