Mumbai: Nupur Sharma fails to appear before police

MUMBAI: BJP leader Nupur Sharma, who was supposed to appear before Pydhonie police on Saturday to record her statement in connection with an FIR registered against her over objectionable remarks on Prophet Mohammad in a television interview did not turn up.
Police said that they will see if they can issue fresh summons to her on Monday
A senior police officer had said that they had sent e-summons to Sharma.Police had asked Sharma to appear before Pydhonie police on June 25.
To hand over the summons physically, a city police team had gone to New Delhi last Monday and till Friday it could not hand over the summons to Sharma.
