Indian team wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has heaped major praise on Chandrakant Pandit, calling him the 'Alex Ferguson of Ranji Trophy' after guiding Madhya Pradesh to their maiden crown on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 108 in the second innings, MP were able to topple the 41-time Champions by six wickets in just 29.5 overs to claim their first Ranji Trophy title. Rajat Patidar scored the winnings runs for the team. The victory also meant that it was Pandit's sixth title win in the tournament. He has led Mumbai to the crown three times and also guided Vidarbha to the title two times. Now he has worked his magic again and has guided MP to their first win in the competition.

The coach has been receiving a lot of praise from all corners and Karthik is the latest to congratulate Pandit for his success. taking to Twitter, the Indian wicketkeeper said he couldn't be happier for the 60-year-old. He also compared the Madhya Pradesh coach to legendary football manager, Sir Alex Ferguson by saying how he understand's personality traits, prepares them accordingly and uses it to win titles.

Another person to praise the Madhya Pradesh coach for his achievement was Wasim Jaffer. The former Indian opener, said that Pandit was the best when it comes to winning trophies. Jaffer also had special praise reserved for Aditya Shrivastava and the rest of the Madhya Pradesh players.

"Chandu bhai, tumhaala maanla. 1st Mumbai, then Vidarbha, and now MP, it's incredible! Best coach when it comes to winning trophies. Many congratulations to skipper Aditya Shrivastava, MP team, and support staff #RanjiTrophyFinal," said Jaffer.
