Winston-Salem police are searching for the suspects in an overnight robbery during which one person was assaulted. According to a news release, officers were called to the Sheetz in the 2900 block of Fairlawn Drive at 2:30 a.m. regarding the robbery. Officers arrived after the suspects had already left the scene. Click the video player above for other headlines from WXII 12 News Investigators said that three suspects entered the store, one of them attempted to pay for items with cash. When the cashier opened the register, the other two suspects assaulted them and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawer. All three suspects ran and drove away in the red compact vehicle, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
