Fresh cases jump to 63, active Covid tally at 269

Vadodara: The number of fresh Covid-19 cases in Vadodara city and district jumped to 63 on Sunday. Since a week,the daily fresh cases registered in the city and the district were in the range of 30 to 45.
Even on Saturday, Vadodara had registered 38 fresh Covid-19 cases. With the addition of new cases, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Vadodara has reached 1,34,854 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The results were from 2,161 samples that were tested within the last 24 hours starting from Saturday evening. The official death toll, as declared by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) stands at 757.
Of the total fresh cases, VMC’s west zone has registered the highest – 31 followed by 13from north and seven from east zones of VMC. VMC’s south zone counts for eight cases. Four cases have been reported from Vadodara rural.
The 63 fresh cases were reported from Gotri, Manjalpur, Atladara, Bhayli, Chhani, Gorwa,Ramdevnagar, Sama, Vishwamitri, Undera, Danteshwar, Diwalipura, Ektanagar,Fatehpura, Gajrawadi, Gokulnagar, Harni, Kishanwadi, Maneja, Munjh Mahuda,Siyabaug, Tarsali, Warasiya, Yamuna Mill, Padra, Tajpura and Asoj areas ofVadodara.
On Sunday,as many as 34 patients were declared as discharged, taking the total number of discharged patients to 1,33,828 since the pandemic began.
The number of active cases on the other hand stand at 269, of which 258 are under home isolation, while 11 others are admitted. Of these, only two patients require treatment under oxygen support while nine other patients have mild symptoms.
