Over 23L women, 21L males vaccinated in last six months

Over 23.10 lakh doses have been administered to women recipients in Prayagraj district in the past six months- from January to June this year- whereas over 21.23 lakh doses were also given to their male counterparts in the same period.

Prayagraj: Over 23.10 lakh doses have been administered to women recipients in Prayagraj district in the past six months- from January to June this year- whereas over 21.23 lakh doses were also given to their male counterparts in the same period.
As a result, the women recipients continued to maintain a comfortable lead in overall vaccination chart against their male counterparts in the last week of June month in the district.

Health department data on Sunday revealed that out of total 99,77,692 doses given in the district till date, as many as 49,59,341 females, 49,22,747 males and 3,731 transgenders were covered under the vaccination drive.
Statistics also claimed that out of 4,29,889 doses being administered to eligible recipients between June 1 and 26,as many as 2,18,606 female, 2,04,727 males and 112 transgenders were jabbed. Moreover, out of 3,86,847 doses administered to the recipients in the month of May, as many as 2,03,285 were females, 1,76,798 males and 90 transgenders were vaccinated. While male recipients maintained their lead between January and August, 2021, women recipients started taking lead in month wise vaccination from September 2021 and maintained it till now.
Officials of the health department said active participation of male and female recipients has helped the health department to script a new success story and over 1 crore doses will be given to eligible recipients in next 24 hours. Till now, as many as 99,77, 692 doses were given to recipients in the district.
The fact was that women recipients has participated largely in vax drive and as a result, they continue to maintain their comfortable lead in vaccination drive for the past 10 consecutive months. Moreover, the rising awareness level is another major reason behind the success of the health department to achieve thetarget.
