IMD Predicts Moderate Rainfall In Parts Of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana For Next Four Days

IMD has issued a yellow alert for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the wake of the rains

Hyderabad: Rains lashed several districts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Sunday due to the southwest monsoon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the low-pressure area was between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above sea level. Andhra Pradesh's coastal and Rayalaseema districts will receive moderate rains four days from Monday, predicted IMD. There is a chance of light to moderate rain in several parts of Telangana for the next two days. 

The AP Disaster Management Agency recently warned of possible thundershowers in Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Anakapalle, Alluri Sitaramaraj and Parvathipuram Manyam districts of Andhra Pradesh. IMD has issued a yellow alert for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the wake of the rains.

The Regional Meteorological Department (Amaravati) has forecast moderate showers or thundershowers in north coastal and Yanam for four days from Monday. The pressure has intensified in both the Godavari districts, and heavy rains are expected towards Tuni in the Kakinada district. Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle and Narsipatnam are also likely to receive showers on Monday. IMD predicts thunderstorms, especially in the northern coastal districts.

The IMD's Hyderabad office has estimated that the state will receive moderate rains for the next two days. Adilabad, Komaram Bhim, Asifabad, Manchiryala, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri, Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts are likely to receive heavy rains.
