Union minister RCP Singh loses cool after being referred as 'Hanuman' of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar

On being asked just like the Jamui MP Chirag Paswan used to be referred as the "Hanuman" of the BJP, you were called as the "Hanuman" of Nitish Kumar, Singh retorted back, "I am not 'Hanuman'. My name is 'Ramchandra.' Please correct it, I am not the 'Hanuman' of any person."

PATNA: Union steel minister and senior JD(U) leader Ram Chandra Prasad Singh, popularly known as RCP Singh, lost his cool at media persons after being referred as "Hanuman" of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
Singh, who is facing the danger of losing his cabinet berth after his current term in the Rajya Sabha comes to end on July 7, was responding to media queries at Bihar’s Jamui town on Sunday late night.
The bureaucrat-turned-politician had gone to Jamui to participate in a private function. Once considered as no-2 in the JD(U) after its de facto leader and CM Nitish Kumar, Singh was virtually alone when he reached Jamui on Sunday night as no party leaders, neither the JD(U)’s Jamui district president nor any MLA of nearby regions, turned up to welcome him. Till a few months before he was denied another term in the Rajya Sabha by the JD(U), Singh used to get a rousing welcome by the party workers and MLAs wherever he visits in Bihar.
"Why should I speak about anyone? You termed me as 'Hanuman'. I am telling you I am not the 'Hanuman' of any person. I am 'Ramchandra.' Ramchandra is my name," Singh said irritably when a reporter again asked whether he was not the "Hanuman" of Nitish Kumar.
"Why such indifference with Nitish Kumar?" the union minister told reporters, "You might be knowing. I have no idea."
"Sir, you are considered as a strong base of the organisation in the JD(U)?" Singh asked, "Am I? I have no such idea. You might be aware…. Brother, I am a very simple person."

Before being elevated to the post of the JD(U) national president in December 2020, Singh held the post of national general secretary (organisation) for many years and he used to appoint the party’s state chiefs and heads of different cells.
Just a week ago, the Union minister had to vacate his Patna-based state government’s bungalow around midnight following a directive from a senior party functionary. The sprawling bungalow at 7 Strand Road was officially allotted in the name of JD(U)’s chief whip in the Bihar legislative council Sanjay Kumar Singh, RCP and his family were living there for 12 years.
