KOLHAPUR: A clash between Shiv Sena workers and the police broke out on Monday afternoon at Jaysingpur in Maharashtra's Kolhapur district.
The Shiv Sena party workers had taken out a protest rally against Rajendra Patil-Yadravkar, who has joined Eknath Shinde camp in Guwahati.

Supporters of Patil-Yadravkar had gathered outside his office and to prevent any untoward incident, the police tried to stop the Sena worker's protest rally 100 metres from Yadravkar’s office.
The Shiv Sena workers broke the barricades and tried to march on.

A clash between police personnel and Shiv Sena workers broke out, resulting in injuries to both party workers and the cops.
Since then, a heavy police force has been deployed in Jaysingpur and hundreds of supporters of Patil-Yadravkar are standing outside his office and house.
Shiv Sena district president Murlidhar Jadhav said, “We were going towards Yadravkar’s office and were going to protest silently but police intervened. We condemn this cowardly act of the police. Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray made Yadravkar minister and gave him Rs 500 crore in the 2.5-year term. He betrayed Thackeray. Patil-Yadravkar is a traitor and we won’t let him live peacefully in Kolhapur.”
