Gujarat Farmer Digs 32-Feet Well After 2 Years Of Hard Work To Overcome Water Scarcity

With hot summers in place, many parts of the country are facing water shortage and drought situations forcing the people to fend for themselves.

In Gujarat’s Dang district, a farmer dug a well for his village people.

Though Dang district receives heavy rainfall but due to its hilly and rocky terrain, there is a severe problem of drinking water during the four months of summer, India Today reported.

The 60-year-old farmer Gangabhai Pawar said that he tried to seek help from the village sarpanch. “But when his demands were not accepted, he himself started digging a well for water purposes,” he said.

Nearly two years, he dug a 32 feet well for his village.

The village Sarpanch Geetaben Gavit appreciated the hard work of the farmer and congratulated him.

Arjun Bagul, a local of the village said that this well will not only satisfy the thirst of the village but will also help in irrigation purposes.
