NEW DELHI: When a south Delhi resident received a text message in April informing her that she had been shortlisted for a job in Amazon US, she clicked on the embedded URL out of curiosity. Next moment, Rs 4 lakh was debited from her bank account.
Three months later, two persons, including a BTech graduate, have been arrested. They have been identified as Moninder Shrivastav and Pramod Prabhakar.
The duo allegedly sent malicious links to job aspirants, and hacked their mobile phones. Their aides are absconding.
“Two laptops, two cellphones, a tablet, four debit cards and five cheque books have been seized,” police said.
