Heavy rains expected in next two days

Moderate to heavy rain is likely in the next two days in the south and west of Telangana including districts of Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Suryapet, Khammam, Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy, according the the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Hyderabad: Moderate to heavy rain is likely in the next two days in the south and west of Telangana including districts of Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Suryapet, Khammam, Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy, according the the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
Large parts of these districts have a deficit in rainfall. According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), between June 1 and June 27 the rain shortfall in some areas of Mahbubnagar was 65%, Gadwal (69%), Nalgonda (73%) and Suryapet (89%).
The coming spell of heavy showers is likely to bring relief especially to farmers.
The districts of Hyderabad and Rangareddy have already met their quota of rainfall this month and are in the normal range, except for a few areas such as Malkajgiri, Musheerabad and Secunderabad where the deficit is over 40%.
As of now, 136 mandala have received large excess rainfall, 161 excess rainfall, 160 normal rainfall, 112 deficient rainfall and 20 have large deficiency in rainfall.
