Curry is a much-loved dish throughout the nation, but London is steeping in spices and sauce. But our city loves it so much it has its own awards celebrating all the restaurants and takeaways we have to offer.

The London Curry Awards took place last week (Monday, June 20), celebrating local businesses from across the capital, where the winners were praised for their “hard work, determination, impeccable service and efforts”. Many of the awards were split in local regions to make sure even the smallest of businesses got recognition.

One such winner was Haweli of Ealing, who took home the Dining Experience of the Year for West London. This accolade is just another the restaurant has added to their collection, having won Best Customer’s Choice Award at the CurryLife Awards 2021, as well as Chef of the Year Award and Business Man of the Year award at the Euro Asia Curry Awards 2021.

Haweli has been serving the people of Ealing since 1985, becoming a pillar of the community. They have supported the local Salvation Army by giving food to the homeless, provided lunch for doctors and nurses at Hammersmith hospital, and donated food to the Islamic Centre Mosque in Ealing during Ramadan.

The restaurant has a 4.5 out of five star rating on Tripadvisor and is a recipient of the site’s Travellers’ Choice Awards. Previous customers have raved about the place, with one saying: “What a great restaurant, food 100% banging, can’t go wrong. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. Food is always perfect.”

Another wrote: “Fantastic meal, best curry I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely order again and can only imagine how good it would be to eat in!”

A third commented: “Fantastic food especially for a buffet. They are extremely busy with A La Carte and takeaways but still kept the buffet well stocked. This food was extremely tasty. Staff very attentive, chef comes out to talk to everyone. They change their buffet menu, can't wait for next Sunday.”

Haweli’s menu consists of traditional curry house faves including tikka masala, jalfrezi, nilgiri and Gosht Kata Masala. Other specials include Sherpuri Special Chicken or Chicken, Naryel King Prawn, and Paneer Shashlik.

The restaurant has also been praised for catering to veggie and vegan customers. Think vegan chick’n with courgettes, vegan mix grill, and alo fritters.
