JAIPUR: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said on Tuesday that the state was examining the demand state government jobs for locals only.
Gehlot, however, said some state governments tried to implement it but did not find favour with the Supreme Court.
Gehlot was addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Rajiv Gandhi Youth Excellence Center, organised by the Rajasthan Youth Board.

“We are examining the steps taken by other states in this regard, and will implement government jobs only for locals if such a situation develops in the country. If it is not illegal, the state government will implement it," said Gehlot.
Independent MLA Baljeet Yadav and Rajasthan Berojgar Mahasangh have been demanding reservations for local youth in government jobs.
He said the state government had already announced 3 lakhs employment to the youth in the government sector. The present government till now has given 1.25 lakh jobs, while 1 lakh jobs are under process and an announcement has been made to give one lakh more jobs, he claimed.
