2 JP Hospital docs suspended, 3 served notices in pregnant woman's death case

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Health department on Tuesday suspended two doctors and served show cause notice to three others in connection with the death of a pregnant woman. Jai Prakash Hospital's gynaecologist Dr P Kumar and medical officer Dr Anamika Patle have been suspended with immediate effect, said health department's order.

Similarly, show cause notice was served to gynaecologist Dr Shradha Agrawal, medical officer Dr Priti Daharia and Dr Vandana Od. Chanchal Tiwari of Khajurikalan was admitted to JP Hospital on Saturday. Child died before delivery and family members urged doctors to undertake surgery to save Chanchal but doctors did not pay attention. Consequently, Chanchal died. Family members protested but police were called in to intervene. Civil Surgeon Dr Rakesh Shrivastava had constituted a committee to probe the incident.
