The Allahabad high court has granted bail to a man accused of beating people who were returning to their houses while raising slogan of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ in the area of police station Simbhawali of Hapur district.

Prayagraj: The Allahabad high court has granted bail to a man accused of beating people who were returning to their houses while raising slogan of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ in the area of police station Simbhawali of Hapur district. Allowing the bail application of one Irfan, Justice Jayant Banerji ordered the release of the accused Irfan on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.

As per the prosecution story, on the date of the incident, in March 2022, the complainants/victims were returning back to their houses raising the slogan of ‘Jai Sri Ram’, and that is when the applicant’s side started abusing them and when they protested the same, they were beaten. Pursuant to this, the accused Irfan was booked under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and other sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Applicant’s counsel submitted that he is innocent and has been falsely implicated in the present crime and that the applicant's side also received injuries in this case. It was further submitted that no specific role was assigned to any of the accused persons by the injured and the complainant and only a general role was assigned to the accused person and applicant is in jail since March 11, 2022, and that the possibility of conclusion of the trial in near future is very bleak. After hearing parties concerned, the court in its order dated June 27 directed that the applicant be released on bail.
