Dengue survey in Chanda shows alarming results
Chandrapur: The very first survey conducted by the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation (CMC) to verify the breeding of dengue mosquitoes has shown alarming results.
Nearly 30% containers with stagnant water checked during the house to house survey by the municipal authorities were found to be infested with dengue larvae.
CMC launched the survey to control the outbreak of dengue and other insect-borne diseases.
The first survey carried out in 10,885 houses revealed shocking results. Around 30 per cent containers were infested with larvae.
CMC teams are checking containers used to store water and are destroying the larvae. Officers have urged citizens to take precautions. Citizens have also been advised to ensure that water does not accumulate in coolers, tires, scrap metal, cans, etc. Empty water storage containers at least once a week, said civic officials.
