KOLAR: A businessman who left behind a bag containing Rs 2.5 lakh cash and a gold bangle in a KSRTC bus heaved a sigh of relief after state transport undertaking (STU) officials traced it and gave it back to him.
Basha, from Chintamani, was lucky the bus in which he had travelled on Saturday from Kyalanur to Kolar had gone on another trip to Chintamani and no one noticed the bag stuck beneath the seat.

Basha alighted at Clock Tower in Kolar but forgot to take his bag. A couple of hours later, he realised what had happened and rushed to the KSRTC depot in Kolar. He informed vehicle inspector Raghu, who alerted depot manager Ramesh. As the bus had left for Chintamani, Ramesh called up bus conductor Shivananda and asked him to check for the cash bag. Both the conductor and the driver, Sanjay, searched the bus and found it under a seat with the money and bangle intact.
On their return journey, they handed it over to the depot manager, who in turn returned it to Basha who was anxiously waiting at the depot.
KSRTC officials felicitated Sanjay and Shivananda on Sunday and handed them appreciation certificates.
