KANPUR: The Kolkata Rajdhani Express was halted for about an hour at Kanchausi railway station in Auraiya district on Howrah-Delhi route after it had an engine failure while it was on way to Delhi, at around 6.30am on Tuesday.
The passengers onboard had to suffer while repair team was dispatched, however, it failed to locate the fault. Later, an engine of a goods train was used to resume the journey.
Meanwhile, half a dozen trains including Swarna Shatabdi Express, Rajdhani Express, Varanasi Jodhpur Express coming from behind were passed through the loop line.
Station Master Kanchausi Akhilesh Kumar said that the technical team along with RPF went to the spot on information about engine failure. “A goods train engine was used to take the train for onward journey,” he said.
