Man gets life in jail for raping minor

Coimbatore: The special court to try cases under Pocso Act on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to a 35-year-old man for raping a five-year-old girl in June 2017. On June 24, 2017, Chinnaraj took the daughter of his neighbor, while she was playing outside her house, to his residence.
The minor girl’s father caught him red-handed while he was raping the girl, but Chinnaraj managed to escape from the spot.Based on a complaint filed by the girl’s father, Perur all women police inspector Amutha registered a case against Chinnaraj under sections 5 (m) read with 6 of the Pocso Act and arrested him. Chinnaraj was working in a bakery near Malumichampatti then. The trial took place before the special court which gave the verdict on Tuesday. tnn
