Mumbai: Bail pleas of five rejected in Elgar Parishad case

A special NIA court on Tuesday rejected the default bail pleas of five accused – academician Soma Sen, Sudhir Dawale, Rona Wilson, Surendra Gadling and Mahesh Raut –in the Elgar Parishad case. The accused had initially moved their pleas before the Pune court where the case was first heard.

MUMBAI: A special NIA court on Tuesday rejected the default bail pleas of five accused – academician Soma Sen, Sudhir Dawale, Rona Wilson, Surendra Gadling and Mahesh Raut –in the Elgar Parishad case. The accused had initially moved their pleas before the Pune court where the case was first heard. In 2020, the case was transferred to the special court in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Wahab Khan, lawyer for another accused Gautam Navlakha, sought a mosquito net for him, submitting that the facility was withdrawn by the new jail in charge, citing security risks. tnn
