Man held for girl’s rape in Bihar's Bhojpur district

ARA: An 8-year-old girl was raped by her co-villager whom she used to call ‘dadaji (grandfather) in Bhojpur district. The accused, identified as Kamat Ram, was arrested on Monday.
The incident took place under Charpokhari police station area on Sunday night when she was sleeping with her mother and sister in the open outside her house.
Piro SDPO Rahul Singh told reporters that the accused was arrested on the complaint lodged by the family members of the victim.
According to the FIR lodged with the Mahila police station, the victim was sleeping outside home with her mother, sister and other family members on Sunday night. When her mother woke up on Monday morning, she did not find the girl and started searching her. The girl was found unconscious near the village canal. When the girl regained her consciousness, she told her mother that ‘Kamat baba' had taken her away near the canal, gagged her mouth and raped.
