Amarnath Yatra 2022: Jammu and Kashmir L-G Manoj Sinha flags off first batch of pilgrims

The annual Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir is all set to being from June 30. L-G Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims from the Jammu base camp. Multi-layer security arrangements have been put in place for the 43-day-long pilgrimage that culminates at the cave shrine. The pilgrimage is being organised after a gap of 2 years. Even in the year 2019, the Yatra had to be cancelled midway because of the impending decision to scrap Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories.
