Upendra begins to shoot 'UI'

Upendra starts the shoot of his directorial film 'UI' after having a grand launch amidst the presence of Shivarajkumar, Sudeep and Dhananjaya on June 3rd. Moreover, this project is even more special as Upendra who made his debut in 'Tharle Nan Maga' in 1992, will be completing 30 years as a director in the industry and 'UI' is his 11th film as a director in his illustrious career who went on to redefine Kannada cinema giving classics like 'Tharle Nan Maga', 'Sssh', 'Om', 'A', 'Upendra' and 'Super'. 'UI' will be Upendra's first attempt in Pan India as the film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam too. Fans of Upendra are curious to see how creatively he will throw a surprise to the audience. So far the casting of the film is tight-lipped and now only actor Murali Sharma has joined the cast. Art director Shiva Kumar who has worked in 'KGF', 'Vikrant Rona' has been roped in by Upendra. Upendra speaking during the launch of the film has said that he had conceived the idea of the 'UI' story 15 years and is still relevant to today's times. So we have to wait and see what all surprises Upendra has in store for the audience to see his magic after 7 years. 'Uppi 2' was the last film Upendra directed in 2015. Upendra is also busy with other projects too, the mulitstarrer with Kiccha Sudeep, 'Kabzaa', 'Trishulam' and the sequel to the blockbuster 'Buddhivantha', 'Buddhivantha 2'. Upendra was last seen in 'Home Minister' released on April 1st, 2022.
