HYDERABAD: After confirming BJP MLA Eatala Rajender’s firm Jamuna Hatcheries encroached upon 85 acres of assigned and ceiling land illegally in Hakimpet and Achampet villages in Masaipet mandal of Medak district, the revenue department has restored the assigned land to 65 farmers.
Medak Lok Sabha MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy handed over land assignment pattas and pattadar passbooks to the farmers on Wednesday.

After Eatala Rajender was removed from the state cabinet in May, 2020, the state government had served notices to his family members' firm Jamuna Hatcheries and charged the it with encroachment of government assignment land and raised illegal constructions on the land. Rajender claimed that the firm legally purchased the land from the farmers and erected the poultry sheds.
Medak district authorities said the government had received a complaint from one Chakali Lingiah and others saying that the government had allotted land to them in 1994, which were encroached upon by the former minister’s family members firm and built poultry sheds while threatening them with dire consequences.
“A survey was conducted by the revenue department which had revealed that about 85 acres land is under the illegal occupation of the firm. All these lands were kept in prohibited properties list by the then government in 2007. But the Jamuna Hatcheries purchased these lands illegally,” a senior official of Medak district said.
After the government served notices, the firm approached the high court. Officials said the high court has held that authorities are free to take action as per rules and procedures.
He said enquiry by the tahasildar revealed that of the 65 assignees, 53 assignees belonging to BC community mostly from Chakali, Gouds, Mudiraj and vanjara communities, nine SC assignees, three ST assignees.
“Tahsildar after conducting enquiry under TS Assigned lands (Prohibition of Transfer) act 1977 has passed restoration orders in favour of 65 assignees and their legal heirs. The lands were handed over to the assignees,” G Ramesh, Medak additional collector told TOI.
