Rattlers win fourth straight, edging Niagara at home

The Saskatchewan Rattlers have a four-game win streak, thanks to a Canada Day victory over the visiting Niagara River Lions.

Guard Ali Sow hit the game-winner in the Elam Ending, snapping a 90-90 tie as the   Rattlers edged the Lions 92-90 Friday night at SaskTel Centre. The victory runs their record to 7-4, and moves them into a tie with Niagara for third place in the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s overall standings.

Saskatchewan’s Scottie Lindsey collected 25 points and eight rebounds in a back-and-forth affair, and Devonte Bandoo chipped in 21 points.

Khalil Ahmad notched a game-high 37 points for the River Lions, along with nine rebounds, four assists and four steals.

The Rattlers return to action Sunday with a road game against the Newfoundland Growlers, followed by a Wednesday contest in Ottawa against the BlackJacks. They return to Newfoundland for a July 9 game, before returning home July 12 against the Hamilton Honey Badgers.
