Two Women Are Killed By Shark In Egypt's Red Sea

After video said to show an attack by a shark emerged on Sunday, the environment ministry confirmed two women were killed in a shark attack in a resort on Egypt's Red Sea coast.

On Facebook, the Egyptian ministry reported that two women died after being attacked by a shark in the Sahl Hasheesh area south of Hurghada.

Their identities were not revealed in the statement.

"An Austrian tourist's left arm was torn off, apparently in a shark attack," said Red Sea governor Amr Hanafi on Friday.

Facebook users shared a video on Friday that showed a swimmer struggling before a pool of blood surrounded her. The authenticity, date and location of the video couldn't be independently verified by AFP.
