Low Carbon Alliance is hoping to have the Twitch Hill solar facility operational by Q3 2023.
Low Carbon Alliance, in partnership with wedding venue Cheswell Grange, has gained planning consent for a 25MW solar and storage facility in Shropshire.
Telford & Wrekin Planning Committee has approved the Twitch Hill solar facility, which will help to directly respond to the climate and biodiversity emergencies and commitments declared by Lilleshall Parish and Telford and Wrekin Councils.
Simon Crowe, managing director of Low Carbon Alliance says: “We are proud to support our clients at Cheswell Grange by securing consent for the solar and facility as part of their regenerative and environmental plans at the Cheswell Grange, whilst delivering projects that support the UK’s net zero targets.”
Speaking to Solar Power Portal, Crowe confirmed that while Low Carbon Alliance has secured planning for a battery compound as well as a solar array, there is no import for the battery, with a 25MW export only connection secured.
The company is now seeking funding offers for the construction of the solar plant, which has a target operational date of Q3 2023. Cheswell Grange and Low Carbon Alliance were advised by Pegasus Group.
Twitch Hill solar facility follows Low Carbon Alliance Limited and real estate investor Kajima Europe forming a joint venture, targeting a £150 million UK solar and storage portfolio in October 2021.
