Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner warned businesses in 13 previously exempt sectors to comply with registration requirements under the Data Protection Regulations 2021, Business Daily Africa reports. Under the regulation, data controllers and processors meeting certain criteria are mandated to register with the ODPC. In its latest flagging, ODPC called on entities like bars, restaurants, dispensaries and schools to register regardless of annual turnover or number of employees.
