St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 211 S. Main St., North Wales, celebrates Sunday, August 7,  with a Communion service in the sanctuary at 10 a.m. Music will be by new Music Director Sam Tarasenko. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person and can be accessed from www.stpetersnorthwales.org . There will be a Zoom service starting at 8:45.  The church is welcoming Pastor Ihor Shem from Ukraine for a conversation (with translator) in the opening part of the Zoom service, which will begin early at 8:45 a.m. in order for a conversation with Pastor Shem who is leading his flock near Kyiv through most difficult circumstances. The Thrift Shop is closed for the summer and will reopen on September 10.  Donations can be dropped off each Tuesday in August from 9-11 a.m.

The Church of the Holy Spirit of Harleysville (Episcopal), 2871 Barndt Road at the corner of Sumneytown Pike, Upper Salford, is following summer service hours. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church is hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 2 p.m.- 7 p.m. Note this is a change in the date. The Red Cross has asked the church to host this additional blood drive due to the urgent need for blood. One unit of blood donated can be used as whole blood transfusions or separated into components which will help four individuals. It is best to make an appointment but the Red Cross will take walk-ins if openings occur. They are asking anyone who feels ill, please do not donate.  Face masks must be worn and temperatures will be taken at registration.
