AN EAST Cowes man will stand trial later this year, accused of growing cannabis in his bedroom and supplying people with drugs on the street.

Joshua Cowley, of Captains Parade, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday (August 2).

The 31-year-old is charged with cultivating cannabis, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of ketamine, and using electricity without due authority.

The charges relate to dates between January 1, 2020, and July 22, 2020.

Prosecutor, Liz Miller, told the court the alleged cannabis cultivation was located in an upstairs bedroom, and comprised 30 plants, with a street value between £8,400 and £25,200.

She said the matter was too serious for magistrates to deal with.

Mr Cowley saw his case adjourned for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on September 5.

He was granted unconditional bail.
