A haul of weapons and cannabis plants were discovered at a Wolverhampton address, prompting a road closure. The cache of items were found at an address on Moseley Road, in the Bilston area of the Black Country city.

Eight cannabis plants were seized by West Midlands Police, with an estimated street value of £8,000. It is not known what type of weapons were found.

A section of Moseley Road was closed, after officers attended the property at 12.40pm, so enquiries could take place. A spokesperson for the police force said: "We attended a property on Moseley Road, Bilston, at 12.40pm, following reports of suspicious activity.

"Officers found eight suspected cannabis plants and a number of weapons which will be forensically examined before being destroyed. Part of the road was closed for a short time as officers carried out enquiries. No arrests were made.
