JORDAN PEELE ON EXPECTATIONS AFTER 'GET OUT' AND 'US'

"I think of expectations as gifts. It is the only way you can look at it, otherwise you're going to be smothered and unwound by overthought. But, for me, taking control of what I think the expectations are, gives me a sense of power when I'm crafting a story. The more I know about what an audience is thinking and what they're expecting, the more ability I have to deliver, try to deliver on that, or flip it on its head."

JORDAN ON COLLABORATING WITH DANIEL

He was also asked about Daniel and his collaboration. To this, Jordan added, "I've never seen an actor work as hard as Daniel did in getting the horse skills together. And it's wonderful to watch his process, because from the first day I met him on 'Get Out,' I said, I need that accent to be right, I got you. I don't know if you got me because you again, you're not doing it yet.' But, he came in 'bam' and gave his best, like flawless, right? So, I had trust."

About the film being divided into chapters, Jordan shared, "There are name cards and, without going too deep into it, the name cards are a part because I think Nope feels different structurally to other films. And there are departures from traditional storytelling in it. And I felt that the name cards helped an audience know how to watch the film and to know that this was not going to be the most straightforward style of narrative."

Nope will hit the theatres in India on August 19, 2022.
