Teen dead & two rushed to hospital after horror crash on Aberdeen road as cops launch probe

A TEENAGER has died and two others have been rushed to hospital following a horror road crash.

The fatal smash happened around 12.40am this morning on the B9077 in Aberdeen.

The collision involved a black Audi RS3 and emergency crews rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised.

But a 19-year-old man, who was a passenger in the motor, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man, and 22-year-old man, who was a passenger, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

They suffered minor injuries and no other vehicles were involved.

The road is still closed between Kirkton House and Leggart Terrace as officers carry out an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Officers are calling on anyone who witnessed the crash or may have information to get in touch.

Sergeant Lesley Morrison, of Elgin Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and our thoughts are with the deceased's family at this difficult time.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the car prior to the incident to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0176 of 25 September, 2022.

Yesterday an elderly man, aged 70, died after the car he was driving veered off the road.

The incident happened on the A83 near Ardgartan, Argyll and Bute, around 6.05pm last night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed that a red Jaguar XK8 Coupe was travelling eastbound when it left the road.
