A Glasgow restaurant has been named among the top 10 places to eat in the United Kingdom when it comes to fine dining.

According to Tripadvisor, The Gannet is listed in seventh place with the website releasing the list in a bid to "help provide inspiration on the top spots to dine out whatever the occasion, whether at home or while travelling."

The eatery is listed alongside other fine dining establishments including Dean Banks at the Pompadour, located in Edinburgh.

The travel review website has said that the 2022 "Best of the Best Restaurants are calculated based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings for restaurants on TripAdvisor collected from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, specific to each award subcategory, as well as an additional editorial process."

The Michelin star restaurant, located at 1155 Argyle Street, is a hit amongst locals as well as tourists with it currently boasting an impressive four and a half stars our of five having been awarded 'Travellers Choice 2022'. It also has 1,453 'excellent' reviews taking it to the fourth spot out of 1,708 restaurants in the city.

As written by the Michelin Guide, "one of the stalwarts of the Finnieston dining scene, The Gannet is a proper neighbourhood restaurant run by a closely-knit team. The modern set menu evolves as the weeks go by and they add some playfulness to the cooking – as well as having fun with some interesting wine pairings."

In addition to listing the top fine dining businesses, they have also listed the top 10 when it comes to categories such as Everyday Eats, Picture-Perfect, Date Night and Hidden Gems.

Whilst no other Glasgow business was listed, other Scottish eateries were with Edinburgh's Makars Gourmet Mash Bar being listed as the number one spot in the 'Top 10 Everyday Eats Restaurants in the UK' category.
