Sean McKenzie struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Glenafton pulled off the ultimate smash and grab at Buffs Park last night.

On an incredible evening in Kilwinning, the hosts rattled the woodwork THREE times as they bossed the majority of the WoSFL Premier contest.

But it was Glens who nicked all three points after McKenzie took their one and only clear-cut second half opportunity in the 91st minute.

The big striker kept his cool to drill home in a packed penalty area and give the visitors their first league win since September.

There's no doubt Ryan Stevenson's side rode their luck but Kilwinning will be kicking themselves at not taking at least one of the many good opportunities that came their way.

Thomas Collins wasted a chance to fire them ahead wth barely 60 seconds on the clock when he shot straight at goalkeeper David Markey from seven yards.

It was almost immediately costly when Glens broke up the park and Sam McKee dragged an effort narrowly wide of the post.

Collins was unlucky not to break the deadlock when he clipped the outside of the post with a brilliant diving header in the 15th minute.

The goal frame then came to Glens' rescue again in 27 minutes to keep out a fierce Dylan Mackin strike from the edge of the box.

Collins eventually hit the back of the net in the 35th minute only to be correctly flagged offside.

At the other end, Hugh Kerr hurriedly blazed a great chance over the bar after a low cross found him alone at the back post as half-time approached.

That was pretty much as good as it got for the visitors until McKenzie popped up with the match winner.

Kilwinning upped the tempo after the break but good fortune continued to evade them in front of goal.

Collins crashed a header off the crossbar just after the hour mark with the rebound falling kindly for Glens.

The visitors soaked up a lot of pressure and, by and large, defended resolutely. A late goalmouth scramble gave them serious cause for concern but yet again the footballing gods were on their side.

And just when it looked like they'd earned a hard-fought point, a rare foray forward presented McKenzie with a last-gasp chance to snatch all three - and he grabbed it with both hands.
