HYDERABAD: A businessman from Banjara Hills, who recently filed an extortion case against Poachgate main accused K Nanda Kumar, has alleged in his complaint to the police that the latter had boasted he would be the deputy chief minister of Telangana if BJP came to power and then threatened him to hand over a property in Parigi.
Nanda Kumar was earlier arrested along with Ramachandra Bharathi and Simhayaji in October from a Moinabad farmhouse for allegedly attempting to lure four TRS MLAs with huge offers of cash to switch sides to the BJP.
Subsequently, apart from the Poachgate case, Nanda Kumar was booked by cops in seven other cases involving cheating and extortion.

In his extortion complaint to the cops about 10 days ago, businessman S Satish said he had financial dealings with Nanda Kumar since 2017 and, subsequently, he had helped him (Satish) in purchasing 12 acres of agriculture land in Parigi. But following a boom in land prices in the surrounding areas, Satish said that Nanda wanted the land transferred in his name.
"Two months ago, Nanda Kumar called Satish to his home in Film Nagar. Nanda Kumar said that he would be the deputy chief minister once BJP formed the government in the state and if Satish did not part with his agriculture land in Parigi, then he would destroy him," a source in Hyderabad police said.
In his complaint to police, Satish said: "Nanda threatened to kill me if I did not register the property in his name. To avoid further trouble, I had offered him money twice to settle the matter. I paid him Rs 21 lakh and Rs 11 lakh on two different occasions. But despite paying him all that money, Nanda did not give up his demand. He kept putting pressure on me. Some time later he threatened that he would see my end after becoming the deputy CM if I did not transfer the property."

A case was later registered against Nanda Kumar based on the businessman's complaint under IPC section 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt).
Cops probing Nanda Kumar's role in the Poachgate case have claimed that he has links with the BJP and accused him of trying to broker the deal between four TRS MLAs and Ramachandra Bharathi of Faridabad to join the saffron party.
