Brown County

The West Hancock girls played Brown County on Wednesday night and tasted defeat for the first time this season, as Brown County won the game, 66-44.

Lillie Woodworth led West Hancock with six points and Katey Flynn had eight points for Brown County in the opening quarter. Brown County led 16-11 after one period. Brown County would outscore West Hancock 20-13 in the second and lead at the half, 36-24. Alexa Gray paced the Lady Titans and Flynn again led the Lady Hornets with six points each.

The Lady Hornets put some distance between them and the Lady Titans with a 28 to 9 scoring edge in the third quarter. Alexis Lucie scored four points to lead the Lady Titans. Flynn knocked in nine for the Lady Hornets.

The Lady Titans outscored the Lady Hornets 11-2 in the final quarter. Lucie led the way again with six points. Joie Ham scored the only two points for the Lady Hornets, who posted the 66-44 win. Lucie led all Lady Titans with 13 points. Woodworth finished with nine points and Jadyn Climer ended with eight points.

West Prairie

West Hancock battled West Prairie on black Friday and posted the 55-35 win.

Woodworth scored eight points to lead the team to a 13-3 advantage after the first quarter.

Nettie Wehner scored seven points and the Lady Titans 11 to the Cyclones’ six in the second quarter to lead 24-9 at the half. The third quarter was closer as the Lady Titans just outscored the Cyclones 13-12. Woodworth knocked in five points for the Lady Titans, as they took a 37-21 lead into the final period. West Hancock put the game away with an 18-13 fourth quarter and posted the 55-35 win. Woodworth’s five points led the team. Woodworth had a game-high 20 points. Wehner added nine points and Lucie seven points.

Jacksonville Routt

Saturday the Lady Titans played Jacksonville Routt for third place. Jacksonville Routt won the game 51-35. The Lady Titans finished fourth.

Routt outscored West Hancock 18-13 in the opening quarter. Gray scored six to lead the Lady Titans. The teams played to a seven-all tie in the second quarter and Routt led 25-20 at the half. Wehner had four points in the quarter for the Lady Titans. It would be an 11-11 third quarter, but Routt still held the advantage, 36-31. Lillie Woodworth had three points. Wehner, Climer, Lucy Woodworth and Joshlin Little had two points each. Routt put the win away with a 15-4 fourth quarter to take third place with the 51-35 win. Lillie Woodworth and Climer had a basket each for the Lady Titans. Woodworth led with eight points. Wehner and Gray had six points each. Climer finished with five points. Lillie Woodworth made the all-tournament team for the second straight year.
