US-ROK forces carry out anti-nuclear weapon drills near North Korean border

Allies’ ‘sub-terranean training’ seeks to boost combined combat readiness and operations, US military says

U.S. and South Korean troops carried out weapons of mass destruction (WMD) removal drills this week to strengthen combined readiness against such threats, amid continuing concerns that North Korea may soon conduct its seventh nuclear test.

A U.S. Army infantry regiment “legion” became the first U.S. Stryker infantry company to participate in “sub-terranean training” in South Korea during the drills, the U.S. military said on social media Tuesday, alongside the ROK Army’s 136th MECH BN.
